Paul Steinhardt is Albert Einstein Professor in Science at Princeton University and on the faculties of the departments of physics and astrophysical sciences. He is a theoretical physicist with research
interests ranging from cosmology to condensed matter physics. The sculpture by Christoph Spath is inspired by his work on quasicrystals, a new class of materials whose atomic arrangements
exhibit symmetries that are impossible for crystals (such as five-fold symmetry) and that, as a result, have unique physical properties. To find out more about Prof. Steinhardt's research, go to:
